EAT PRAY LOVE; DUYGU' S SUGAR COOKIES

My beautiful friend Duygu has sent me a kind invitation to her thanksgiving party which indeed would start with the Hodja's Kur'an session and then praising and praying before the 21st December. The party was also meant to be a girls gathering where we would enjoy delicious meals as well. So i made these girlie pink cookies for her to be gifted to her guests. Since the concept was mainly the thanksgiving, in my mind the cookie message was very clear; EAT, PRAY & LOVE..

Güzeller güzeli nazik arkadaşım Duygu, beni 8.Aralık günü düzenleyeceği şükran duasına davet etti. Önce hoca eşliğinde Kuran okunacak ve sonrasında dua edilecekti. Daveti bir anlamda da kızlar buluşması idi, pek tabi ki lezzetli mamalar beraberinde. Ben de Duygu için bu pembe kurabiyeleri yaptım. Buluşmanın konsepti net olduğu için, aklımdaki kurabiye mesajı da netti; YE, SEV, DUA ET...

She' d once told me that we would be around 25 girls.  So i baked more than 1 tray of cookies.  First covered them with pink sugar paste and then embossed the letters.

Bana 25 kişi olacağımızı söylemişti. 1 tepsiden daha fazla kurabiye pişirdim. Önce pembe şeker hamuruyla kaplayıp, sonra da harfleri bastım.

The message is indeed my motto. So meaningful.

Kurabiye mesajı aslında benim motto m. Çok anlamlı.

The second day, luckily my sister Handan helped me to decorate the cookies. First we dreamt of a bunch of daisies. But the result of 2 did not satisfied at all. It must have been more sophisticated, more beautiful. So we wondered if hydrangea cutter would work. And indeed this was the favorite flower of Duygu as far as i used to know. And here we go...

Ertesi gün kurabiyeleri süslemek için Handan yardıma geldi. İlk önce bir demet papatya yapıp süslemeyi düşündük. 2 tane örnek yaptıktan sonra çok da içimize sinmedi. Daha sofistike, daha güzel olmalıydı. Daha sonra bildiğim kadarıyla Duygu nun da favori çiçeği olan ortanca kalıbıyla çalışabilir miyiz diye düşündük. Vee işte sonuç...

Now they are beatiful... With some brush strokes on the petals, the hydrangeas became more beautiful.

Bence çok da güzel oldu.. Ortancaların üzerini fırçayla boyadıktan sonra daha da güzel oldu.

Once again i would like to thank Duygu for her kind invitation to this occasion. As we used to say; may God appreciate all of our prayers and may all the wicked energy dissappear from earth.. AMIN !!!
