"GOLDEN GIRLS" GATHERING
And here is the final shot of the month. Actually i was dreaming of it since 1 year and finally we managed to come together. This gathering party is dedicated to the " Golden Girls" of our family. I was responsible for the "sweet treats" and creating the pinky atmosphere in our dining room. And so my moms were responsible for the rest of the edibles. As a suprise; we also had a Louis Vuitton cake presented by Burcu. I would like to thank each one for attenting and making this lovely pinky day unforgettable. Here we go with the sweeties :)
İşte bu da kutlamalarla geçirdiğimiz Nisan ayının son buluşması. Aslında bu buluşmayı en az 1 yıldır hayal ediyordum ve nihayet başardık. Bu buluşma partisi ailemizdeki "Altın Kızlar" a itafen yapıldı. Ben masadaki tatlılardan ve yemek odasındaki pembe atmosferi yaratmakla sorumluydum. Annelerim de geri kalan tuzlu yiyeceklerden. Süpriz olarak bir de Louis Vuitton pastamız vardı; Burcu nun da ellerine sağlık. Egeaka malikanesinde misafirimiz olan herkese ayrı ayrı teşekkür ediyorum, pembiş günümüzü unutulmaz kıldılar. MY BEAUTIFUL & BELOVED FRIEND 

İNCİ' S BIRTHDAY 

Actually i am a bit ashamed of posting this cake, since it is a lot far away from perfection :( I made the gumpaste flowers almost 1 week ahead, but unfortunately the cake itself was a last minute goal. Due to the tight schedule of this birthday week, i could not even promised my dear friend İnci that i will do it. Although she insisted me too much not to do a single thing, i started baking at 8:00 p.m and time-wise finished at 4:30 a.m in the morning. I had to pronounce "time-wise finishing", cos' it was not pratically finished in my mind. There were still lots of decorations to do on the cake, but i was so tired and sleepless, time was up, so i hade to stop somewhere.
My poor cold ganache coating also had been trapped with the counter lights and the surface of the cake seems to have lots of craters :) There are indeed lots of how-to errors in this, but at least i am glad to see how this strawberry banana vanilla cake dishes had been swept by the friends and how amazing compliments i received from my dear İnci, Yeşim, Ebru, Fatma and Handan :))
Aslında bu pastayı post ettiğim için kendimden biraz utanıyorum, çünkü mükemmellikten oldukça uzak bir pasta oldu bu:( Şeker hamuru çiçekleri nerdeyse 1 hafta önceden planlayıp yapmıştım, ama pastanın kendisi son dakika golü oldu. Kutlu doğum haftamızın yoğunluğu itibariyle, İnci ye pastasını yapacağıma dair söz bile veremedim. Bana her ne kadar en ufak birşey yapmamam için ısrar ettiyse de; akşam 8 de pişirmeye başladım ve sabah 4:30 da zamansal olarak bitirmek zorunda kaldım. Zamansal diyorum, çünkü hayalimdeki pasta aslında daha bitmemişti. Hala pasta üzerinde yapacağım onlarca rotüş ve dekorasyon vardı, ama çok yorulmuştum, çok uykusuzdum ve mecburen bir yerde bıraktım. Bir yanda hazırlayıp soğutmaya bıraktığım çikolatalı ganaj kreması, ben hala pasta katlarının arasını düzeltmeye çalışırken iyice soğuyup sıvanamayacak hale geldi ve sonuçta bu ters ışıkların da azizliğine uğrayıp pastama kraterli bir yüzey kazandırdı:) Bundan başka bir sürü yapım yanlışı da yok değil pastada, ancak doğumgünü kahvaltısı sonrasında bile bu çilekli muzlu vanilyalı pasta tabaklarının silinip süpürülmesi beni ziyadesiyle memnun etti. Karşılığında sevgili İnci, Yeşim, Ebru, Fatma ve Handan dan aldığım iltifatlar da cabası :)

But of course the cake is a little detail indeed. The most important thing is my dearest friend İnci has turned out a new age on 20th April and we were all together celebrating her birthday as usually we do since the last 12 years! Yes, it' s been 12 years since i met her and we were never been apart. And i thank God for gifting me such a precious friendship and humanity which i would like to have till the end of time.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BELOVED PRINCESS İNCİ, MAY GOD GIVES YOU ALL THE HAPPINESS, HEALTH AND WEALTH WHICH YOU DESERVE MORE THAN ANYONE ON EARTH !!!
Pek tabi ki bugünün anlam ve önemi itibariyle pasta çok ufak bir ayrıntıydı. En önemlisi biricik dostum İncim 20.Nisan da yeni yaşına girmişti ve biz de son 12 senedir olduğu gibi yine doğumgününü kutlamak üzere hep birlikteydik! Evet, onu tanıyalı tam 12 sene oldu ve biz hiç ayrı düşmedik. Allah a bu güzel insanı ve dostu bana hediye ettiği için tekrar şükrediyorum, ve sonsuza kadar da benimle olmasını umuyorum.

A MUST-TO-BE COUSIN FOR EVERYONE; MY BEAUTIFUL ASLI' S BIRTHDAY

Actually she turned out to be 31 years old, but her soul roams sometimes around her 3' s just like the cute minnie mouse birthday cake which is usually devoted for babies :) She' s a girl from all ages indeed, she can perfectly manage the human relationships of any age. It' s hard to describe her talents and hand-skills and the sincerity of her warm heart. She' s like an angel without wings. She is always ready right always when you need her to be. Her mind is dedicated to help others. Her helpfullness and kindness is limitless, but only she can not help herself. They are in a kind-of-love with my sister and i may not find the right words of how much we love her and we are happy to have such a cousin.
So we threw a birthday party for her and i made this cake :)

Aslında tam tamına 31 yaşına bastı, ama genellikle bebeklere adanan bu şirin pastanın da anımsattığı gibi bazen de ruhu 3 yaş etrafında dolanıyor. Tüm yaşların kızıdır o aslında, herhangi bir yaştaki insanla da ilişkileri mükemmeldir. Onun ne kadar yetenekli, elinin becerikli olduğunu ve kalbinin de ne denli güzelliklerle dolu olduğunu tarif etmek çok zor. Gerçek anlamda kanatsız bir melek. Ne zaman ihtiyacın olsa her zaman orda ve yanında olur. Beyni diğer insanlara yardım etmeye programlanmıştır resmen. Yardımseverliği ve iyilikleri limit tanımaz, ama bir tek kendine faydası dokunmaz. Kızkardeşimle bir nevi aşk yaşarlar, ben de onu ne kadar sevdiğimizi ve onun gibi bir kuzene sahip olduğumuz için ne kadar mutlu olduğumuzu anlatacak doğru kelimeleri bulamam.
Bu sebeple onun için süpriz bir doğumgünü partisi düzenledik ve ben de ona bu pastayı yaptım :)

OUR LITTLE BOY HAS TURNED OUT 23 YEARS, OMG !!!

I still can not believe how this little blond baby has become such a big young man. It was 23 years ago when our mother announced us that she's pregnant and then we were all expecting a baby girl until the last minute of birth. But as a suprise, my mom gave birth to a baby boy. When i first saw him, he was so ugly as a nature of the tough labor, his face was reddish and it was hard to distinguish. I now confess that i honestly wondered if i would ever love & possess him as my brother . But it was just a few days after Kaan had risen to our lives as the new sun. His face was become smooth and brilliant and beautiful like i' d never seen before. We were truly obsessed with this beautiful blond baby. It was really difficult but so funny to walk with him along the streets, since whoever passing by were stopping us and giving kisses or hugs to him :))) As a baby he was so silent, so cute, but things started to change a bit after he was 1 year old, where he started to talk ( yes, talk ! ) and walk, and then he became a chatterbox; mostly a kind of questioning machine who keeps asking every single thing and he was walking more on the air than standing on his feets. The only thing remains unchanged is; his INTELLIGENCE. He was very clever even as a baby, and still so he is ;)

So now today we are celebrating his 23rd birthday and i made this delicious cake for him.

Hala daha bu küçüçük sarı bebeğin nasıl kocaman genç bir adam olduğuna inanamıyorum. 23 sene önce annemizin hamile oldugunu öğrendiğimizde, son dakikaya kadar kız bebek bekliyorduk. Ancak muhtesem bir süpriz oldu, kardeşimiz erkek doğdu. Normal doğumun neticesi olarak ilk doğduğunda çok çirkindi, yüzü alacalı bulacalı kırmızıydı ve yüz hatlarını seçmek bile zordu. İtiraf etmeliyim ki, onu ilk gördüğümde acaba kardeşimi hiç sevebilecek miyim diye bile düşündüm; şimdi itiraf ediyorum . Fakat birkaç gün içinde Kaan hayatımızın resmen yeni güneşi olarak doğdu. Yüzü pırıl pırıl, bembeyaz ve çok güzeldi. Bağımlısı olduk, bu güzel sarı bebek için adeta çıldırıyorduk. Onunla birlikte caddelerde dolaşmak hem çok zor, hem de çok eğlenceliydi. Yanımızdan kim geçerse geçsin, durup öpmeden kucaklamadan geçemezdi:))) Bebekken çok tatlı ve sakindi, ancak işler 1 yaşından sonra yürümeye ve konuşmaya başladığında biraz değişmeye başladı. Bir süre sonra gerçek anlamda bir geveze oldu; adeta soru sorma makinesiydi. Karadan çok havada yürümeyi severdi, koltukların üzerinden dolaşırdı, ayakları yere değsin pek istemezdi. Değişmeyen tek şey ise sahip olduğu ZEKASI. Bebekken de çok zekiydi, hala daha da öyle ;)

Bugün ise 23.yaşgününü kutluyoruz. Ben de ona işte bu leziz pastayı yaptım;

MY SOULMATE' S BIRTHDAY PARTY

27th March is one of the significant days in our lives. Cos' it's my dear husbands birthday. 

Besides being very excited with anything about him, and as a new mom-to-be, this year i was determant to make sth a little bit extraordinary for me considering the little baby boy we' ve been expecting. So the party concept was almost clear in my head; the color range from Baby Blue to Mint Green, the cutest 2-tiered birthday cake that i' d ever make, party printables and sweet treats along through the party table.

So here we go:

27.Mart hayatımızdaki en önemli günlerden biri. Çünkü o gün biricik eşimin doğumgünü.

Onunla ilgili herhangi birşeyle çok heyecanlı olduğum gibi, aynı zamanda yeni bir anne adayı olarak, beklemekte olduğumuz küçük prensi de düşünerek, bu sene biraz daha farklı birşey yapmaya kararlıydım. Bu yüzden konsept kafamda hemen netleşti; bebek mavisinden mint yeşiline renk yelpazesi, şu ana kadar yapacak olduğum en şirin 2 katlı doğumgünü pastası, parti süslemeleri ve parti masası boyunca uzanan tatlı çeşitleri.

Since we were only 10 around the table, the cake should be small. But i was obsessed with making 2-tiered cake, so i designed the upper tier as a styrofoam cake model, it was not a baked cake indeed. I made this ahead of time and let it dry and stiffen for 3 days. The day before, i baked the lower tier cake as intense vanilla pan-di-spagna, the italian pastry cream inside and put the fresh strawberries in and assembled together. The next day i covered the cake with american buttercream frosting and sugar paste fondant and made the embellishments.

Sadece 10 kişi oldugumuz için, pasta küçük olmalıydı. Ama aynı zamanda 2 katlı doğumgünü pasta yapma konusunda da saplantılıydım. Bu yüzden üst katını strafor maket pasta olarak tasarladım. Bunu doğumgününden 3 gün önce yapıp kurumaya ve sertleşmeye bıraktım. Doğumgününden 1 gün önce de pastayı vanilyalı yoğun pandispanya olarak pişirdim, içinin dolgusu olan italyann pastacı kremasını yaptım ve katlar arasına da taze çilekleri yerleştirip pastayı birleştirdim. Ertesi gün pastayı amerikan kreması ile sıvayıp şeker hamuruyla kapladım ve üzerindeki süslemeleri yaptım.

The rest of the sweet treats on the table was orange flavored cupcakes, mint green macarons with raspberry filling and cakepops covered with milk chocolate and white pearl sprinkles.

Tatlı masasındaki diğer tatlar ise portakal aromalı muffinler, mint yeşili renkli ve frambuaz dolgulu macaronlar, sütlü çikolata ve inci toplar ile kaplı topkeklerdi.

But there was a little problem; due to strict diet my husband is following, he would not be able to eat even a single bite of these sweets. So we designed a fruit bouquet for him. Even not mentioning the salty apperatives, surely that was the most innocent thing on the table.

Fakat ufak bir sorun vardı; eşimin sıkı diyetinden dolayı, bu lezzetlerden en ufak bir ısırık bile alamayacaktı. Biz de onun için bir meyve buketi hazırladık. Masadaki kalori ve karbonhidrat yüklü diger tuzlu aperatif çeşitlerini saymıyorum bile. Eşimin meyve buketi masadaki en masum lezzetti.

My favorite thing amongst all was the paper straws in baby blue color and mint green color that i purchased online. They are so retro and so cute. And we should not forget the HAPPY BIRTHDAY banner hanging down the wall. Thanx to my brother&sister for making it real.
Masadaki en favori objem ise; internet üzerinden satın aldığım bebek mavisi ve mint yeşili renkli kağıt pipetlerdi. Bunlar çok şirin ve çok retro havaları var. Ayrıca duvarda asılan İYİ Kİ DOĞDUN bannerını da söylemeden geçemeyeceğim. Kafamdaki aranjmanı birebir elde etmeme vesile olan kardeşlerime de ayrıca teşekkür ederim :)

I am not going to mention how gorgeus gifts me, my husband and our little baby boy received from our magnificent family members, since this is out of the purpose of this blog. The only thing i would say that they were countless and priceless which made us experience very emotional moments. That was definetely one of the most happiest day in our lives that we would remember ever. We feel deep gratitude and thankfullness to them. WE LOVE OUR FAMILY SO MUCH as printed in these cards and once again HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GREAT LOVE  !!!

Birbirinden müthiş aile fertlerimizden, benim, eşimin ve minik bebeğimizin aldığı muhteşem hediyeleri saymayacağım, çünkü bu blogun amacı dışında kalıyor. Sadece tek söyleyeceğim şey; bize oldukça duygusal saatler yaşatacak güzellikte sayısız ve paha piçilemez olduklarıydı. O gün hayatımızdaki en mutlu ve sonsuz kadar hatırlayacağımız günlerden biri oldu kesinlikle. Hepsine karşı derin şükran ve minnet hissediyoruz. Ve alttaki kartlarda da yazıldığı gibi; HEPİNİZİ ÇOK SEVİYORUZ ve tekrardan İYİ Kİ DOĞDUN AŞKIMM !!! :)
